Its been too long
Sorry about the break on using this thing, i let myself get way too busy with other things and have to get more regular with this. Its a great outlet.
Well today is another crazy one, Fireflight was in studio for the morning show and did an amazing job, I have had the honor of knowing them for about 2 years now and its so rad to see them holding strong to their art and faith. Pick up the Unbreakable album if you don't already have it.

Also today is the deadline for one step in a promotion im running, contestants need to have doctor notes of release in by noon to move on to stage two of the selection process. It has been quite the adventure to get all of the entries sorted and then match up the non-stop stream of faxes and return emails about the process and answer calls. So yeah, I'm stoked for the In-Shape Challenge promotion but so much work. Its times like these i am so thankful for my street team and volunteers who come in and help out, no way one person could get all this stuff done.

Roots
It seems that too quickly I forget one reason this job is so amazing, the people I get to meet. I get wound up with the logistics of time to get on location, the upcoming events or promotions then setting up and watching everything and taking care of whatever needs to be taken care of. It seems like my mind just goes and goes, I love being able to multitask and work on many different things at the same time, but sometimes that has led me to miss what is right in front of me.
Once I remember that I can take a step back and really chat with the people I'm around, those coming around because they either are curious about the station or already love it, and we share life. I hear of their struggles and triumphs their passions and just crazy randomness at times, all in all; life shared. I could never live all paths of life, I am not called to, but I love people and I love life so why not hear the adventures of others. To take time and listen in this busy world, to give value to life lived. Maybe be that ear a person has been needing and searching for, or maybe just laugh, or maybe have wisdom so deep imparted unto our lives. Wow, I really need to make sure to take more time.

Walk...races...rides...etc
So I know what my demo is, I seek out events or what not that will be where they are, to promote things outside our sponsors that they would connect with.
So I hear of a charity event that I feel would connect them together, first search out how to contact someone involved in putting the event together, then try to explain that I am offering a media sponsorship usually at no cost, and would love to promote the event. Even maybe offer to have some DJs walk, run, ride or whatever to bring more exposure.
If I am offering all of this, and many groups complain that its so hard to get the word out about the event, why is it so hard to have someone return a call? Geeze!!!
Lucky for me, I LOVE my job!!!!!

Event and more...
So yeah, radio promotions has been quite the path. I started this journey of my life on January 21st with www.kduvfm.com and its been a blast so far.
So I have events GALORE right now. Well not only events, but working out promotions as well. I am so blessed to have an amazing street team and volunteers who help me get stuff done. Not to mention a staff that always helps, and I would consider their jokes and remarks part of the encouragement.
So working on getting my volunteers to work the phone lines for Pledge Drive Fall 2008, Oct 15, 16 & 17. I have a total of 72 spots to be filled, this should be fun!! Lets see, also working out locations to do Redeem the Dial on location dates for that promotion. And lets not even mention that I have to start working out the turkey promotion for Thanksgiving, that is going to have to be totally different from last years, and the same with Christmas. Oh the JOY!!

Work...work...work
